Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab

Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahhab (1115–1206 AH) was a scholar, jurist, and reviver from the Najd region of the Arabian Peninsula who devoted his life to calling people back to the pure tawhid of the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah. Trained in the Hanbali school and deeply read in the works of Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim, he confronted the grave-worship, superstition, and innovation widespread in his time with clear proofs and patient, persistent teaching.

His concise treatises — foremost among them Kitab at-Tawhid, al-Usul ath-Thalathah, and Kashf ash-Shubuhat — distill the essentials of creed into a form that scholars and beginners alike have studied and taught for generations. His call was not something new, but a return to the understanding of the Salaf, and his works remain cornerstones of authentic aqeedah instruction the world over.
