Ibn al-Jawzi

Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Jawzi (508–597 AH) was one of the most prolific scholars in Islamic history, a master preacher and historian whose written output is said to number in the hundreds of works. Based in Baghdad, he combined deep knowledge of hadith and history with an unmatched gift for moving the hearts of his audience toward Allah.

Ibn al-Jawzi's writings are known for their directness — sobering reminders of heedlessness, the deception of Shaytan, the brevity of this life, and the urgency of repentance, all delivered with the storytelling skill of a man who spent his life calling people back to Allah. His works remain a staple for anyone seeking to soften the heart through the words of the Salaf.

Below is our full collection of Ibn al-Jawzi's works translated into English, available at The Islamic Book Cafe.
