Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali
Zayn al-Din Abd al-Rahman ibn Ahmad, known as Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (736–795 AH), was a master of hadith and one of the most beloved scholars of the heart in the Hanbali school. Born in Baghdad and raised in Damascus, he studied under the foremost scholars of his era and became renowned for combining rigorous hadith scholarship with profound spiritual insight — a rare gift that shines through every page he wrote.
Ibn Rajab's works are treasured for their warmth and depth, addressing the inner life of the believer: sincerity, knowledge, grief, brotherhood, and the remembrance of death. His writing carries the precision of a muhaddith and the tenderness of a man who understood the heart's struggles intimately, always grounded in the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf.
