Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah

Shams al-Din Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr, known to history as Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (691–751 AH), was among the most prolific and penetrating scholars Ahlus-Sunnah has ever produced. A close student of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, he stood firmly by his teacher through imprisonment and hardship, and went on to author works of remarkable depth on aqeedah, tazkiyah, fiqh, and the states of the heart.

What sets Ibn al-Qayyim apart is the rare combination of scholarly rigor and spiritual insight. His writings on tawbah, sabr, tawakkul, and the diseases of the heart remain unmatched in their psychological precision — he diagnoses the soul's ailments with the clarity of a physician and prescribes their cure with the authority of a scholar grounded entirely in the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah, upon the understanding of the Salaf.
