Ibn Qudamah al-Maqdisi

Muwaffaq al-Din Abdullah ibn Ahmad Ibn Qudamah al-Maqdisi (541–620 AH) was a leading jurist of the Hanbali school and one of the great scholars of Salahuddin's era, renowned for his mastery of fiqh, his sincerity, and the clarity of his writing on the purification of the soul. He authored al-Mughni, one of the most authoritative fiqh references in Islamic history, alongside a body of shorter works dedicated to the cultivation of character and the heart.

What distinguishes Ibn Qudamah's spiritual writings is their accessibility — concise, practical treatises on humility, remembrance of death, and the inner secrets of worship, written for the student who wants substance without unnecessary complexity, all grounded firmly in the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah.
