About This Book

The virtues of Islam are not incidental qualities — they are the very characteristics that distinguish the true Muslim from everyone else. The Explanation of the Virtue of Islam presents Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab's original treatise on the virtues and defining qualities of Islam, with a detailed explanation by Shaykh Khalid ibn Qasim ar-Raddadi that draws out the practical and spiritual significance of each point.

What This Book Covers

Islam as a Comprehensive System

The book establishes that Islam is not a collection of rituals or a weekend religion — it is a complete and comprehensive way of life encompassing belief, worship, character, ethics, and sincerity. Ibn Abd al-Wahhab grounds this in the statement preserved from the early scholars: "Know that Islam is the Sunnah, and the Sunnah is Islam — one cannot be established without the other." This principle shapes the entire treatise: the virtues of Islam are only accessible through adherence to the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

How a Caller and Student Presents These Virtues

Shaykh ar-Raddadi's explanation gives particular attention to how a person calling to Allah or teaching Islam should present these virtues — with clarity, mercy, wisdom, and strict adherence to the way of the Salaf. This section makes the book particularly valuable for anyone engaged in dawah or Islamic teaching.

Scriptural Evidence, Aphorisms, and Character Reform

The book is organized in concise chapters containing textual evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah, meaningful statements from the scholars of Islam, and direct guidance for character reform. The underlying goal throughout is to revive the believer's understanding of what Islam truly demands: sincerity in worship, avoidance of innovation, dedication to mercy, and a life of upright conduct.

About the Authors

The original treatise is by Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (1115–1206 AH), who was born in al-Uyaynah in Najd and studied in Madinah, Basra and al-Ahsa before returning to teach in Najd, devoting his life to calling the Muslim community back to Tawheed on the evidence of the Qur'an and Sunnah. This explanation is by Shaykh Khalid ibn Qasim ar-Raddadi. Published by Authentic Statements Publications.

Who This Book Is For

Students of knowledge, callers to Allah, teachers of Islamic education, and anyone who wants to understand Islam not as a cultural identity but as a complete system of virtues grounded in the Qur'an and Sunnah.
