About This Book
Tafsir As-Sa'di is commonly recommended as a starting point for serious Quranic study in English — and the complete ten-volume set makes the full benefit of Shaykh As-Sa'di's Quranic scholarship available to the English-speaking Muslim in a single collection.
Tafseer As-Sa'di: 10-Volume Set (Arabic title: Taysir al-Karim al-Rahman fi Tafsir Kalam al-Mannaan) by Shaykh Abdur-Rahman Nasir As-Sa'di is a complete explanation of the entire Qur'an from Surah al-Fatihah to Surah al-Nas — covering every verse with the clarity, depth, and spiritual warmth that distinguishes this tafsir. The set is sold complete; individual volumes are not sold separately.
What Makes Tafsir As-Sa'di Different
Written for the Reader, Not the Specialist
Most classical tafsir works — including Ibn Kathir's — were written for scholars and advanced students who could engage with chains of narration, competing opinions among scholars, and detailed linguistic analysis. As-Sa'di made a deliberate choice: to write for the reader who wants to understand the meaning and wisdom of the Qur'an without needing a background in the Islamic sciences to do so. The result is a tafsir that a new Muslim can read and benefit from, and that a student of knowledge will find equally rich.
The Methodology of the Salaf — Applied Consistently
As-Sa'di explains the Qur'an using the Qur'an, the authentic Sunnah, and the understanding of the Companions and their followers — without introducing weak narrations, Isra'iliyyat of dubious origin, or philosophical interpretations foreign to the early generations. His style is to state what he considers the correct interpretation directly and concisely, without extended debate of minority positions.
Eloquent, Warm, and Spiritually Enriching
As-Sa'di's prose carries a quality rarely found in tafsir works: it speaks to the heart. His explanations of the attributes of Allah, the stories of the prophets, the descriptions of Paradise and Hell, and the practical guidance of the Medinan surahs leave the reader with a renewed love for the Qur'an and a stronger connection to their Lord.
Complete Coverage of the Entire Qur'an
All 10 volumes cover the complete Qur'an — from the depth of Surah al-Baqarah through the power of Juz Amma.
