About This Book
About This Book
Few subjects are as central to the life of a believer as iman (faith), and few scholars explained it with the clarity of Shaykh 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Nasir as-Sa'di. In The Tree of Faith, he takes the Qur'anic parable of the good word being like a good tree — firmly rooted, its branches reaching to the sky, yielding its fruit in every season — and uses it to explain what faith truly is, where its roots lie, and how its branches are nourished so that it bears good fruit in this life and the next.
Relying entirely upon the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah, the Shaykh defines faith, explains how it increases through obedience and decreases through disobedience, and details the benefits a sound, growing faith brings to the heart, the limbs, and every part of a person's life. Each section is concise yet complete, leaving the reader with a clear, connected picture of the subject.
What This Book Covers
The Meaning and Reality of Iman
A precise definition of faith upon the way of Ahlus-Sunnah — belief held in the heart, affirmed by the tongue, and acted upon by the limbs — free from the confusion found in other approaches.
The Roots and Branches of Faith
How the foundations of iman (its roots) give rise to outward acts of worship and good character (its branches), and how the two are inseparable.
How Faith Increases and Decreases
A clear explanation of the hallmark position of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah: that faith grows with obedience and remembrance of Allah, and weakens through sin and heedlessness — and what this means for the believer's daily striving.
The Fruits and Benefits of Faith
The tremendous effects of a nourished faith — tranquillity of heart, uprightness of action, and reward in the Hereafter — along with practical means of feeding and protecting it.
About the Author

He is best known for his celebrated tafsir, Taysir al-Karim al-Rahman, and for a teaching method praised for its clarity, structure, and reliance on evidence. Among his many students was Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-'Uthaymin. His works remain a trusted first point of reference for students and general readers alike.
