The Danger of Innovated Principles Upon Methodology & Creed By Shaykh Hasan al-Mardawi

Whoever contemplates upon those who had fallen and been destroyed, he finds that from the reasons of their destruction is self-amazement; so that deceived person who was amazed with himself began inventing principles and setting foundations which he wants to elevate to high positions of success by claiming that his principles call to rectification and combat excessiveness and extremism, while another comes to claim that his principles combat watering down and disintegration (of the correct methodology); so the former was not successful, nor was the latter, due to their distancing themselves from the principles of the Pious Predecessors.

The methodology of the Pious Predecessors is in the middle between the former and latter, without falling short in declaring (opposers of the truth) to be disbelievers, innovators, or astray, nor being excessive in that.
