About This Book

Ibn Taymiyyah's Majmu al-Fatawa is a vast compilation of his essays, fatwas, and theological discussions — a collection that Shaykh Ibn Uthaymin recommended by oath, saying: "I swear by Allah, I am advising you with the acquisition of Majmu al-Fatawa of Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah."

Majmu al-Fatawa: Regarding Life After Death and Affairs of the Unseen presents a curated selection from this collection focused specifically on one of the most important subjects in Islamic aqeedah — the matters that lie beyond this life: the grave, the barzakh, the soul, and the Day of Resurrection. The selection includes commentary by Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan, grounding every discussion in its evidential basis and making Ibn Taymiyyah's analysis accessible to the English-speaking student.

What This Book Covers

The Fitnah at the Time of Death and the Condition in the Grave

Ibn Taymiyyah addresses the trials that occur at the moment of death, the condition of the deceased in the grave, the punishment of the grave for those who deserve it, and the connection of the soul to the body after death. These matters are established in authentic hadith and are part of the aqeedah of Ahlus-Sunnah — affirmed with evidence and explained with the precision Ibn Taymiyyah brings to every subject he treats.

Questions of the Hereafter — Addressed and Answered

The selection covers a range of questions that Muslims genuinely ask and struggle with: the fate of the parents of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), children tested in the grave, children of non-Muslims in the Hereafter, the prophets within their graves, Muslims who enter the Hellfire, the condition of disbelievers on the Day of Resurrection, and the events of the Day of Judgment. Each is addressed directly, from the evidence, without evasion.

With Commentary by Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan

Shaykh al-Fawzan's commentary provides context, clarification, and additional evidential grounding throughout — making this not just a translation of classical texts but a guided study of Ibn Taymiyyah's positions on the afterlife.

About the Authors

Shaykhul-Islam Ahmad ibn Abd al-Halim Ibn Taymiyyah (661–728 AH) was born in Harran and taught in Damascus, writing across aqeedah, fiqh, hadith and usool. This selection is drawn from his Majmu al-Fatawa with commentary by Shaykh Salih ibn Fawzan al-Fawzan, who studied under Shaykh Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz and Shaykh Abd al-Razzaq al-Afifi and serves on the Permanent Committee for Islamic Research and Fatwa and the Council of Senior Scholars. Published by Authentic Statements Publications.
