About This Book

Muslim women face an enormous range of questions in their daily lives — about worship, about family, about their rights and obligations, about the rulings that govern situations unique to them.

About This Book

Islamic Fatawa Regarding Women, compiled by Muhammad bin Abdul-Aziz al-Musnad, brings together the answers of senior scholars of the twentieth century to more than 350 of those questions in a single reference. The scholars whose answers are compiled here — Shaykh Abd al-Aziz ibn Baz, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Uthaymin, Shaykh Abdullah ibn Jibreen, and others — answered from the Qur'an and the authenticated Sunnah, and their responses are reproduced here with their evidences.

What This Book Covers

Worship and Purification

Questions specific to women's worship: the rulings of menstruation and postnatal bleeding as they affect prayer, fasting, Hajj, and recitation of Qur'an — along with questions on wudu, ghusl, and related matters that arise in a woman's daily religious life.

Marriage, Divorce, and Family

Questions on the marriage contract, the rights and obligations of spouses, divorce and its types, custody, and the rulings governing family relations — answered clearly and with their textual basis.

Dress, Conduct, and Social Life

Questions on hijab and its conditions, interaction with non-mahram men, women's work outside the home, and the many practical situations a Muslim woman navigates in modern life.

Belief and General Religious Questions

Questions on aqeedah, supplication, dhikr, reading Qur'an, and other aspects of religious life that women have asked the scholars about over the years.
