Jamaal Al-Din M. Zarabozo

Jamaal al-Din M. Zarabozo is a contemporary American Muslim author, teacher, and translator, and one of the more widely read English-language writers on hadith, creed, and the purification of the soul. After embracing Islam he devoted himself to studying the Islamic sciences with a particular focus on hadith and its methodology, dedicating his work to conveying the teachings of the Qur'an and Sunnah to English-speaking Muslims upon the understanding of the pious predecessors. He is perhaps best known for his multi-volume Commentary on the Forty Hadith of al-Nawawi, a detailed exposition drawing widely on classical scholarship, as well as works such as Purification of the Soul and Human Rights in Islam. His writing is marked by careful referencing, an emphasis on authentic narrations, and a concern to address the realities faced by Muslims living in the West. Through his books, lectures, and translations he has made a significant contribution to English Islamic literature grounded in the methodology of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah.
