Al-Fiqh al-Muyassar in Light of the Qur'an and Sunnah Volume 2

Al-Fiqh al-Muyassar — Simplified Islamic Jurisprudence — is a comprehensive fiqh reference compiled by a committee of senior scholars, presenting Islamic rulings with their Qur'anic and Sunnah evidences across all major areas of a Muslim's life. Volume 2 moves beyond acts of worship to cover the transactions and dealings (muamalat) that govern a Muslim's economic and social life.

What This Book Covers

Commercial Transactions (Buyu')

The conditions of a valid sale, prohibited sales (those involving riba, gharar, or deception), the rulings on debt, loans, mortgages (rahn), and guarantees — all presented with their evidences and the positions of the scholars on key questions.

Partnership and Leasing

Islamic partnership structures (sharikah), agricultural partnerships (muzara'ah and musaqah), and the rulings on leasing (ijarah) — what is permissible, what invalidates a contract, and the rights and obligations of each party.

Inheritance (Mawarith)

The Islamic law of inheritance is one of the most precisely specified areas of Shari'ah. This section covers who inherits, the shares specified in the Qur'an, the order of heirs, what causes a person to be excluded from inheritance, and the basic calculation of shares.

Marriage and Divorce (Nikah and Talaq)

The conditions of a valid marriage contract, the mahr, the rights and obligations of husband and wife, and an overview of the rulings on divorce — presented with their evidences and the positions of the scholars on contested questions.
