Al-Fiqh al-Muyassar in Light of the Qur'an and Sunnah Volume 1

Al-Fiqh al-Muyassar — Simplified Islamic Jurisprudence — is a comprehensive fiqh reference compiled by a committee of senior scholars under the supervision of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Saudi Arabia. It presents the rulings of Islamic jurisprudence directly from their Qur'anic and Sunnah evidences, making it suitable for students and educated Muslims who want fiqh that is grounded in proof rather than madhhab convention alone.

Volume 1 covers the acts of worship (ibadat) that govern a Muslim's relationship with Allah — the foundation of the entire legal edifice.

What This Book Covers

Purification (Taharah)

Types of water and their rulings, wudu and its conditions and invalidators, ghusl, tayammum, and the rulings on ritual impurity — all presented with their evidences and the positions of the scholars where they differ.

Prayer (Salah)

The conditions of prayer, its pillars and obligatory acts, the sunnahs, the times of prayer, the congregational prayer, Friday prayer, prayer during travel and fear, voluntary prayers, and the prayer of the sick. Each ruling is accompanied by its Qur'anic or hadith evidence.

Zakah

The obligation of zakah, its conditions, the nisab thresholds for different categories of wealth, the rates applicable to each, and those entitled to receive it — presented clearly and evidentially.

Fasting (Sawm)

The obligation of Ramadan fasting, who it is obligatory upon, what invalidates the fast, the rulings on making up missed fasts, expiation, and voluntary fasting throughout the year.
