About This Book
A Muslim's life — from the moment he wakes to the moment he sleeps, from his private worship to his dealings with others — is governed by a coherent framework drawn from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Minhaj al-Muslim (The Way of the Muslim) by Shaykh Abu Bakr Jabir al-Jazairi is an attempt to present that framework in full: creed, worship, character, manners, and dealings, all in one comprehensive work written for the practicing Muslim who wants to understand their religion as a complete way of life.
Originally written at the request of Muslim communities in Morocco and used for decades in the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, this two-volume set has become one of the most widely read comprehensive Islamic guides in the world.
What This Book Covers
Creed (Aqeedah)
The work opens with the foundations of Islamic belief — Tawheed, the pillars of iman, what a Muslim must believe about Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and divine decree. This section establishes the doctrinal grounding upon which the rest of the book builds.
Manners and Character (Akhlaq and Adab)
A substantial portion of the work addresses the Muslim's character and conduct — honesty, trustworthiness, modesty, gratitude, patience, controlling the tongue, and the Islamic etiquette governing every major situation in a person's social and family life.
Acts of Worship (Ibadat)
The five pillars are covered in detail: the shahada and its conditions, prayer with its conditions and pillars, zakah and its obligations, fasting and its rulings, and Hajj with its rites. Each section presents the ruling, its evidence, and practical guidance for application.
Dealings and Transactions (Muamalat)
The final sections address the Muslim's dealings with others — permissible and impermissible transactions, rights within the family, rights of neighbors and the broader community, and the Islamic framework for commerce and social conduct.
