Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wadii

Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wadi'i (d. 1422 AH) was a leading scholar of hadith from Yemen who devoted his life to reviving the study of the Sunnah in his land. From the Wadi'ah region in the north of Yemen, he travelled in pursuit of knowledge and studied at the Islamic University of Madinah, benefiting from the scholars of hadith of his age and drawing closely on the methodology of Shaykh al-Albani in the sciences of hadith and Shaykh Ibn Baz in creed.

He returned to establish Dar al-Hadith in Dammaj, which grew into one of the most influential centres for the study of hadith and the Sunnah in the modern era, training students who spread across the world. His works and verdicts remain widely referenced among those concerned with the authentication of narrations and the methodology of the Salaf.
