Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbad al-Badr

Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin ibn Hamad al-Abbad al-Badr (born 1353 AH / 1934 CE in Zulfi, in the Najd region of Saudi Arabia) is among the most senior scholars of hadith of our era, often referred to as the Muhaddith of Madinah. He learned to read and completed the memorisation of the Qur'an in his hometown before continuing his studies in Riyadh, where he formed a close and lifelong connection with Shaykh Abdul-Aziz ibn Baz, under whom he studied and whom he accompanied for many years.

When the Islamic University of Madinah was founded, he was selected to teach there and delivered the very first lesson given at the university; he later served as its vice-president under Shaykh Ibn Baz. For decades he has taught in the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, working through the major collections of hadith such as Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and Sunan Abi Dawud. He is known for his careful commentaries and for his widely-read treatise calling the people of the Sunnah to gentleness and mutual mercy with one another. Below are the titles by Shaykh Abdul-Muhsin al-Abbad available at The Islamic Book Cafe.
