Imam Abu Bakr Al-Ajurri

Imam Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn al-Husayn al-Ajurri (d. 360 AH) was a scholar of hadith and creed who took his name from Ajurr, a place near Baghdad, and later settled in Makkah, where he taught and worshipped until his death. He was known for his piety and his firm adherence to the way of Ahlus-Sunnah in an age of theological dispute.

He is best known for his work ash-Shari'ah, a major early text documenting the creed of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah upon the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the way of the Salaf, gathering the narrations and positions of the early scholars on matters of belief. His works remain valued references in authentic aqeedah.
