Anwar Wright is a contemporary American Islamic teacher and translator, and a graduate of the Islamic University of Madinah. Based in Philadelphia, he has long been active in teaching and da'wah among English-speaking Muslims, conveying the creed and practice of Islam upon the Book and the authentic Sunnah and the way of the Salaf.
He is well known for his clear, accessible educational works for English speakers — among them his widely-used guide for the new Muslim, which introduces tawhid, the pillars of Islam and faith, purification, and prayer in a simple and concise way — as well as his teaching of the Madinah Arabic course.
