Attributes of the Righteous Woman was written by Umm Abdillah bint Shaykh Muqbil al-Wadi'i, the daughter of a scholar of hadith, raised in a household defined by scholarship, authentic practice, and dedication to the Sunnah. Who Is Umm Abdillah bint Shaykh Muqbil?

Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wadi'i (may Allah have mercy on him) devoted his life to the science of hadith and to teaching in Yemen, where he established a centre of study that trained a generation of students. His daughter grew up in his household, studied under him, and carries in her writing the mark of a person who learned Islam from its sources rather than from summaries.
