Shaykh Sa'id bin Wahf al-Qahtani

Shaykh Sa'id bin Ali bin Wahf al-Qahtani (1371–1439 AH / 1951–2018 CE) was a Saudi scholar, imam, and preacher. Born in the village of al-Areen in the 'Asir region of southern Saudi Arabia, he completed his doctorate at the College of Usul ad-Din at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, and spent his life teaching, leading prayer, and writing for the ordinary Muslim rather than the specialist.

He authored around eighty works, most of them short and practical, on worship, supplication, and the daily life of the believer. He is known above all for Hisn al-Muslim (Fortress of the Muslim), compiled in 1988 — a pocket collection of the authenticated adhkar from the Qur'an and Sunnah, which he asked to be made cheaply and widely available and which has since been translated into many languages. He also wrote a work on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), Rahmatan li'l-'Alamin. He died in Riyadh in 1439 AH.
