Shaykh Muhammad Khalil Harras

Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Khalil Harras (1916–1975 CE) was an Egyptian scholar of creed known for his firm, evidence-based defence of the way of the Salaf. Born in Tanta, he studied at al-Azhar University, where he earned his doctorate and went on to teach in the Faculty of Usul ad-Din — becoming the first there to present a doctoral thesis on Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah.

He taught in Saudi Arabia at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University and headed the department of Islamic creed at Umm al-Qura University in Makkah, and was a leading figure in the Ansar as-Sunnah al-Muhammadiyyah society in Egypt. He is best known for his clear explanation of Ibn Taymiyyah's al-Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah and his explanation of Ibn al-Qayyim's Nuniyyah — texts that remain widely studied today. Below are the titles by Shaykh Muhammad Khalil Harras available at The Islamic Book Cafe.
