Shaykh Muhammad Ismail al-Muqaddim
Shaykh Dr. Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Muqaddim (born 1952 CE in Alexandria, Egypt), who takes the kunyah Abu Faraj, is a contemporary Egyptian scholar, teacher, and author. He first trained in medicine before devoting himself to the Islamic sciences, studying Shari'ah at al-Azhar University and taking knowledge from a number of the major scholars of Ahl as-Sunnah of his time — among them Shaykh Abdul-Aziz ibn Baz, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymin, Shaykh Muhammad Nasir ad-Din al-Albani, and Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hadi al-Wadi'i.
He became well known as a teacher and caller to Allah, and his writing and lessons centre on aqeedah, fiqh, and the purification of the soul, grounded throughout in the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf. Among his best-known works are a detailed study of the evidences for the hijab and his lessons on the signs of the Hour.
