Shaykh Safiur Rahman al-Mubarakpuri (1362–1427 AH / 1943–2006) was an Indian scholar of hadith and seerah, best known as the author of ar-Raheeq al-Makhtum (The Sealed Nectar), his biography of the Prophet — which was awarded first prize in a worldwide competition on the Prophetic biography organised by the Muslim World League. Born in Mubarakpur in India, he devoted himself to teaching, research, and writing.
He served for a period at the Center for Research in Islamic Studies in Madinah and produced valued works in tafsir and hadith. His Sealed Nectar remains one of the most widely read biographies of the Prophet in the English language.
