Abu Hatim Ibn Hibban
Al-Imam Abu Hatim Muhammad ibn Hibban al-Busti (270–354 AH) was a renowned scholar of hadith, fiqh, and history from the city of Bust in Sijistan. He travelled widely in pursuit of hadith across the lands of Islam, studying under a great many teachers, and served as a judge while authoring influential works in the sciences of narration.
He is best known for his Sahih (al-Musnad as-Sahih), one of the important collections of authentic hadith, and for his work ath-Thiqat documenting reliable narrators. His contributions remain a reference in the study of hadith and narrator-criticism.
