About the Author

As-Sayyid Sabiq (1915–2000) was an Egyptian scholar who studied at Al-Azhar and wrote on returning to the Qur'an and Sunnah in deriving fiqh rulings. Fiqh us-Sunnah is the work he is best known for, and it has been the subject of serious scholarly review — Shaykh al-Albani devoted a full work, Tamam al-Minnah, to examining its narrations.
